Applying and funding.
Answers to the questions we hear most often from business owners.
What does it mean that 18 Funding is a direct funder?
We underwrite and fund with our own capital. Your application is not shopped to a network of other funders, and the people you speak with are the people who make the decision.
Do you run a credit check?
Yes. A credit check is part of our review, alongside your bank activity, cash flow, and time in business. Business performance carries the most weight in our decisions.
How quickly can I receive funds?
Many revenue-based financing deals are approved within 24 hours of a complete file and funded the same day. Purchase order, asset-based, and equipment financing typically take three to ten business days.
What documents do I need to apply?
A completed application and your last four months of business bank statements. Depending on the product and amount, we may also request a driver's license, a voided check, an equipment quote, or recent tax returns.
What can I use the funds for?
Any legitimate business purpose, including inventory, payroll, equipment, marketing, renovations, hiring, or refinancing.
Do you fund businesses outside of New York?
Yes. We are headquartered in New York and fund businesses across the United States, subject to state eligibility.
What if I already have financing?
Existing financing does not automatically disqualify you. We review your current obligations and cash flow to determine what fits responsibly.
How is the cost of financing disclosed?
Every offer includes the total amount funded, total repayment, payment amount and frequency, and any fees, along with the disclosures required under the New York Commercial Finance Disclosure Law.
Specific solutions.
How is revenue-based financing structured?
It is a purchase of a portion of your future receivables at a discount. Your agreement will state the purchased amount, the total repayment amount, and the payment schedule.
Can I get more capital later?
Yes. Once a meaningful portion is paid down, you may qualify for additional capital based on your updated performance.
